Prologue

The Life of Man 

1.     God, infinitely perfect and blessed in Himself, created man to share in His life. -> God calls man to seek Him, to know Him, and to love Him with all his strength. 

·         The Devil tempted people and caused them to sin and the connection with God was broken.

·         God sent Jesus to redeem the world and re-establish the relationship.

·         The Holy Spirit came down and taught everyone about the redemption Jesus did, and help them to live that life.

Through that redemption, we can share in God’s life.

2.             Jesus sent the apostles to spread the Good News.

·         Holy Spirit gave the apostles the ability to proclaim the news and gave them gifts.

3.             People who received faith from the apostles are called to pass it on from generation to generation by professing the faith, living it in fraternal sharing, and celebrating it in liturgy and prayer.

4.             Catechesis is the education in the faith of a Catholic to live in the fullness of Christian life.

27.The desire for God is written in the human heart because man is created by God for God to share in His life. 

 

God never ceases to draw man to Himself. Only in God will he find the truth & happiness he never stops searching for. 

 

28.The dignity of man rests on the fact that he is called to communion with God. Humans should freely acknowledge God’s love and entrust himself to God’s love. 

 

29. The Bond between God & man can fray because of different reasons: the influence of the world, scandal, evil forces, and religious ignorance.

-Revolt against evil in the world. Evil can cause problems like calamities, gossip?, sickness… We fight against the issues NOT evil, leads to us forgetting God- we’re busy fighting, and forget God. 

-The attitude of a sinful man is to stay away from God. 

 

30.To search for God, you need all of your intellect, a sound will, an upright heart, and the witness of others who teach him to seek God.

·         “You Yourself encourage him to delight in Your praise, for You have made us for Yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”

 

31.Proofs of existence of God: 1) The person who seeks God discovers certain ways of coming to know Him. To reach God, we have to departure from the physical world and the human person.

34.In different ways, man can come to know that there exists a reality, that is God, which is the first cause and final end of all things.

 

35. Man’s faculties make him capable of coming a knowledge of the existence of a personal God, but for man to able to enter into real intimacy with him, God willed both to reveal Himself to man and to give him the grace to be able to welcome this revelation in faith. 

36. Man has the capacity to know God with certainty because he is created in the image of God.
